My CVI am a grade 12 student interested at the intersection of business and psychology. I’m passionate about learning new ways to educate and promote mental health.
I created a platform EmpowerMinds to connect with people and provide resources to those who need help. The platform intends to educate and promote mental health discussions through podcast. I am currently working on various innovative ways to spearhead the field of psychology through AI and Machine Learning.
My interests in business have allowed me to create avenues to support underprivileged communities effectively and provide education and resources to women and children. My project Dhaka Denims was founded to pioneer a more sustainable way of fashion. We Utilised Bangladesh’s immense textile waste and recycled them to make accessories. With increase in production, we outsourced some work to local tailors to support small businesses. We used part of the profits to give back and support to local communities. The business is at the forefront of style and sustainability giving opportunities to uplift the beloved community of Bangladesh.
I love spending my time enjoying the outdoors and volunteering. I enjoy challenging myself and being active in my community, which is why I love going to my local dog shelter. Supporting the dog shelter, and taking my own dog for a walk provide me an outlet.
Academics
Stanford Business Organizational Course
The course delves into multiple theories of organizational behaviour and applies them to actual cases of organizational change. I chose to do this because this course has direct application in business, the process and various aspects related to running an organization. The course also explains people and human behavior in a business environment, where it blends both disciplines. In 12 weeks, they describe different scientific principles that relate to organization in various ways. It systematically explained navigating complexities in negotiation, production, change, while exploring the psychological background that is used to leverage against others.
Johns Hopkins Prostate cancer course
The 4-week online course with Professor Ken Pienta explored the various types of cancer, focusing on Prostate Cancer. The interactive lectures were 40 minutes per day explaining Risk Factors for Prostate Cancer, how the cancer is diagnosed, staged and treated. The course deepened my understanding of biology and healthcare.
